Eunice Leneau, age 100, of Oconto, went to her eternal reward in Heaven on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. She was born February 6, 1913 to the late William and Lucy (Sullivan) Phillips. She married Wilfred Leneau May 6, 1939 at St. Peter's Catholic Rectory and was happily married for almost 37 years when Wilfred died in 1976.

Born and raised in Oconto, she was the Valedictorian of her high school class of 1930. She worked at the Oconto County Reporter and in the office at Green Bay Manufacturing before starting "Leneau's Corner Grocery Store" which she, her husband and her sister ran for almost 30 years. She was also the bookkeeper for her husband's business, "Bill's Print Shop". From 1966 until her retirement in 1978, she worked for the Oconto County Highway Department.

She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Oconto until the church closed in 1997. While at St. Mark's, Eunice was the organist for 68 years and also served as the church Treasurer for many years. She joined St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Marinette in 1997.

Eunice was a member of the Oconto Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Oconto Historical Society for many years.

In her retirement years she enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle. She looked forward to the weekly "Golden Ager" card games at City Hall. She also liked watching Packer football games and visiting friends. For her 100th birthday, Eunice received a Proclamation from Mayor Victoria Bostedt celebrating her special day.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Leneau of Peshtigo, James (Pamela) Leneau and Dan Leneau of Oconto, and Todd Leneau of Rockledge, Fla.; a niece, Emmy Lou (Richard) Lorenz of Auburn, Wash.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
