Briggs, Sr. Everett J.
Everett J. Briggs, Sr., 82, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013. He was born on September 16, 1931 in Green Bay to the late Everett M. and Leona (Oudeans) Briggs. Everett graduated from West High School in 1949. He went into the Marine Reserves in 1950 and served during the Korean War. On February 14, 1953 he married Marirose Vieaux in Green Bay. Everett was employed with Wisconsin Public Service as a line foreman for 38 years and retired in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, skindiving, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Everett also liked his vegetable garden and restoring many old items.
He is survived by his wife, Marirose; two sons, Daniel Briggs of Crystal Falls, MI, Everett "Joe" Briggs of Green Bay; two daughters, Christine Mikow, of Appleton, Laurie (Pat) Woodkey of Tisch Mills; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother, Roger Briggs of Green Bay and two brothers-in-law, Richard Resch of Appleton and Robert Vieaux of Onalaska.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janice Resch and a sister-in-law, Darlene Briggs.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, from 4:00 pm until the funeral service at 6:00 pm with Deacon Manny Torres officiating. Military honors will follow. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. A memorial fund has been established in Everett's name.
