John Zimmer, 81, of Allouez, passed away on Thursday. March 6, 2014. The son of the late Joseph and Anna (Schmall) Zimmer, was born on December 28, 1932. On January 30, 1954, he married the former Delores Schingeck in Marinette, WI. John was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. John was a car enthusiast, but more than any other, he enjoyed his Lincoln Town Car, which he would meticulously clean and wax.
John is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Christine (Ron) Pomprowitz, James Zimmer, Paula (Robert) Driessnack, Nora (Paul) Jones; grandchildren, Curt Pomprowitz, Joseph Zimmer, Kimberly Zimmer, Ashley Zimmer, Melissa Driessnack, Amanda Driessnack, Kaitlyn Driessnack, Dana Jones; three great-grandchildren; three siblings, Daniel Zimmer, Colletta Kopp, Maryann Mimier, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as nine siblings.
Friends and family may gather at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, WI on Monday, March 10, 2014 beginning at 4pm. At 7pm a memorial service will be held with Fr.
