Busch, Lloyd

Lloyd Busch, 84, Green Bay, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born November 19, 1929, in Superior, WI to Andrew and Ruth (Peterson) Busch.

Lloyd served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, as a Medic in the Korean War. On June 22, 1957, he married Rhoda at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, in Duluth, MN.

Lloyd earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1957, from UW-Superior. He started teaching Social Studies at Marinette High School from 1957 to 1964. Lloyd continued his education at UW-Superior and earned his Master's Degree in Counseling in 1964. He started his career at Green Bay East High School as a Guidance Counselor. The majority of his career was at Preble High School, retiring in 1992. In addition to counseling, Lloyd was a Driver's Education instructor, working for State Job Services, and coordinating the night High School program at NWTC. He was a member of the Local, State and National Education Association.

Lloyd had a mission to spread the gospel. For over 40 years he and Rhoda were members of Central Assembly of God, where he was a Deacon for many years and actively involved in many church activities. Lloyd was an active member of the Gideons International for over 30 years. He was a current member of Woodland Worship Center, and served on the Board of Regents at Trinity Bible College.

Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved chasing trophy bucks in the Nemadji River Valley in Douglas County on the land where he was raised.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rhoda; his children, Daniel Busch, Timothy and Lorie Busch, Thomas Busch, Rebecca and Forrest Grulke; five grandchildren, Samuel, Bethany and Drew Busch, and Hayden and Cody Grulke; brother, Donald and Loretta Busch; and sister-in-law, Mary Busch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Richard, Robert, and James Busch.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Young officiating. Burial will be in Suamico. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
