Michael Krajewski, 66, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, February 23, 2014, at a local hospital. Born on May 17, 1947, in Angelica, WI, he is the son of the late Steven and Genevieve (Golec) Krajewski. Mike attended high school in Pulaski and graduated in 1965. After graduation, he went on to serve for the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Recently, in 2013, Mike received his belated Purple Heart Award for injuries he sustained during the war. After serving his country, he returned home. He began working for Czech Construction and eventually bought the company. Mike developed the company into a number of additional construction services. He was an active member of the Coleman Kalbes-Seewald American Legion Post # 280.
Mike will be greatly missed by his loved ones and will be remembered for his enjoyment of the outdoors, Las Vegas vacations, and NASCAR on Sundays. Mike loved to build and was known for adding his own creative style to everything that he constructed. He enjoyed swimming with his grandchildren, walking with his pets, and traveling with his family.
Mike is survived by his partner of over 20 years, Joan Risner; three sons, Michael (Lori), Matthew (Carrie) and Jason all of Green Bay; step-son, Phillip (Danielle) Risner of Coleman; grandchildren; Mikey, Lance, Cole, Cohen, Mason, Karson, and Landon; one great-grandson, Tristan; one brother, Ronald (Sandy) of Pulaski; four sisters, Eleanor Czech-Braun of St. Louis, MO, Florence Steffen of Green Bay, Carol (Don) Holewinski of Green Bay, and Mary Montag of Connecticut; Joan's brother, Wayne (Donna) Loeffler of Lena; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Rita Baierl and her husband Larry; brothers-in-law, Edward Czech, Harold Braun and Don Montag; Joan's parents, Richard and Evelyn Loeffler; one grandson, Keegan Risner; special canine friend, Cubby.
Visitation at MALCORE (WEST) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Wednesday, from 4pm until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Chaplain Jonathan Elmer officiating. Memorial service and military honors led by Kalbes-Seewald American Legion Post #280 to follow.
