Besanson, Milton J.

Milton J. Besanson, 98, Green Bay resident, died peacefully on the evening of Flag Day, Friday, June 14, 2013. He was born on March 28, 1915 in Green Bay to the late John and Katherine (Wimmer) Besanson. Milton was a Green Bay East High graduate. He worked for H.C. Prange Co. in the office as an order taker for several years and then worked for Morley-Murphy Distributors until his retirement. Milton served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. On July 19, 1947, he married June Hofeldt at St. Willbrord Catholic Church parsonage in Green Bay. He loved to "tinker" around in the basement and always had music playing. Milton loved music, especially, Big Band and country. In his spare time, he would fix up juke boxes and slot machines. He was a true "jack of all trades". Milton was a member of St. Willebrord Catholic Church and sang in the Green Bay Boys Choir for many years.

He is survived by his daughter, Sue (Scott) Tipler, Midland, MI; daughter-in-law, Barbie Besanson, Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Gainer and Jessica Besanson, both of Davenport, IA; Lindsey and Marc Tipler, Midland, MI; great grandchildren, Alex, Jonah and Isaac; brothers, Myron "Mike" (Rita) Besanson and Cyril Besanson, both of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Marge Besanson; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Besanson; son, David Besanson; sister, Bernice Juley; brother, Jim Besanson.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., after 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Andrew Cribben, O. Praem. officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Milton's family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Bishop's Court for all of their care and compassion given. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for the comfort they provided.
