Robert Fass, age 68, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at a local nursing home after a brief illness. He was born on April 19, 1945, son of the late Robert C. and Elizabeth (Allen) Fass. On August 22, 1970 Robert was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Carek at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Robert graduated from Hartford High School in 1963 and then for a brief period he attended U. W. Milwaukee before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. After serving his country, Robert re-enrolled at U.W. Milwaukee to complete his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation he was employed with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation until his retirement in December, 2005. Robert was very active at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending special time with his grandchildren. Robert was involved with the development of the curriculum for Learning in Retirement through U.W. Green Bay for many years.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; two sons, Robert (Lynne) and Jeremy (Jennifer); a daughter, Nicole (Ken) Oldenburg; three grandchildren, Austin, Meaghan, Cayden and another granddaughter soon to arrive. He is further survived by two brothers, Fred (Sue) and James as well as three nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St. Green Bay until the hour of Mass at 4:00 pm. Fr. John H. Harper will officiate.
The family would like to offer a special Thank You to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and San Luis Nursing Home for the care they provided Robert.
