Denissen, Roman J. "Butch"
Roman J. "Butch" Denissen, 71, Madison, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, after a battle with cancer. He was born December 13, 1941, in Green Bay, to Roman and Ursula (Carmody) Denissen, who preceded him in death.
Roman graduated from Premontre High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy following graduation. On August 26, 1967, Roman married Sharon Kussow, of Wrightstown. They resided in Stevens Point for 25 years, where they raised their family and then moved to Madison in 1995. He retired from S.C. Johnson Wax in 2008, after 33 years of service. Roman was an adventurous man who enjoyed a variety of activities in which he fully immersed himself. He was a caring and forever enthusiastic soul whose laughter and love for life will be missed.
Roman is survived by his wife, Sharon; four daughters, Kelly (Dan) Schowalter, New Jersey; Stacy (Eric) Schloesser and their children, Graham, Anna, Sarah, Isaac, Nyaah, Mt. Horeb; Amy (Jaysin) Raykowski and their children, Sam, Jayne, Lucy, Mae, Mt. Horeb; Kate (Craig) Borenz, Madison; his out-laws, Bill and Sharon Kussow, Kay and Tom Neuman, Joe and Lynn Kussow, Amy and Joe Leonhard; and many other family members and friends.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be in South Lawrence Cemetery.
