Nelis, Ronald R.
Ronald R. Nelis, 75, Dyckesville resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, May 14, 2014, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence, surrounded by his family. Ron was born February 10, 1939 in Green Bay to the late Raymond and Marcella (Stiles) Nelis. He was a 1958 graduate of Green Bay East High School and served his country in the Marine Corps. Ron married the former Suzanne Lemens on May 12, 1962, at St. Jude Catholic church. He started employment at Badger Sheet metal and retired in January of 2000 from Robinson Metal. Ron always enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a talent for making sausage with his specialty being Belgian Trippe. Ron was a member of St. Louis Parish in Dyckesville. His most memorable times were spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Nelis, and their two children, Mark (Shelly) Nelis, Luxemburg and Amy (Mike) Nooyen, Green Bay; 7 grandchildren, Amber Nelis and her friend Jordan Jerabek; Jordan Matuszak and her friend Kyle Peot; Alisha Nelis and her fiancée Eric Boulter; Carley Matuszak and her friend Aaron Hoppe; Baylee Nelis; Zachary and Cassandra Nooyen; sister, Janice (Dan) Sheier, Green Bay; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tee and Gordon Kellner, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Sherry (Jim) Cravillion, New Franken; Jackie Lemens, New Franken; nieces, nephews and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, Michael Nelis; his parents, Raymond and Marcella Nelis; his father-in-law, Andrew Lemens; and brother-in-law, John Lemens.
Friends may call at St. Louis Catholic Church, N8726 County Line Rd., Dyckesville, from 4:00-8:00 pm Today (Friday). Parish Wake service 7:00 pm today. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the church after 9:30 am until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Rev. John Van Deuren officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
