Stary, Ronald J.
With his family at his side, Ronald James Stary passed peacefully into everlasting life on Friday, March 14, 2013.
Joseph and Hannah Stary were blessed with the birth of their son Ronald Sunday, November 23, 1930. Ronald grew up in the family home on Goodell St. (now Clark St.) in Allouez and graduated from Central Catholic High School in June 1948.
He was called to serve in the US Army during the Korean War in 1949 and served in Korea. Shortly after his discharge from the Army in 1954 he met the love of his life, Fern (Tootie) Stascak. On July 30th, 1955 Ron & Tootie tied the knot at St. Willebrord Parish. He and Tootie became the proud parents of 5 children, raising them in their Allouez home, next door to his parents. Ron taught his children how to fish, hunt and enjoy the outdoors, spending many summers camping in the Eagle River Area with the family and Erna and Gus Cullen and winters snowmobiling near Channing Michigan with Dot and Chum Olson.
After retiring from Fort Howard Paper in 1990, Ron and Tootie spent their summers in the Sugar Camp and Arbor Vitae area. Ron and Tootie also enjoyed traveling across the US to visit family. He especially enjoyed their camping trips with their kids to South Dakota, his last true camping trips and the surprise "Wedding" in Las Vegas when Ron and Tootie renewed their vows for their 50th anniversary. And of course, he was an AVID Packer fan, never missing a game and always willing to help "coach" the game.
Ron was always there to give a hand to friends and family who needed help, be it a midnight trip to Oshkosh to fix a car, or helping his kids out with home improvement projects. Even as his health deteriorated, Ron would always be there and help, doing whatever he could.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hannah (Rasmussen) Stary; brother Quentin Stary; In-laws Frank and Alma (Giese) Stascak, Curtis and Eleanor Stiles, Marie and Adolph Liebert, Francis and Ann Stascak, Wesley and Erna Cullen, Marcella and Gordon Malliet, Robert Stascak, Jack (Chum) Olson.
