Patzke, Terrance A. "Terry"

Terrence A. "Terry" Patzke, 93, Suamico, died Friday, December 27, 2013. He was born November 3, 1920 in Green Bay to Rudolf and Josephine (Mommaerts) Patzke.

Terrance was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of 1938. In 1938 he was named Athlete of the Year in both track and football. Some of his sports records still stand. He proudly served in the United States Army in World War II and attained the rank of First Sergeant. On July 7 1942, Terry married the love of his life, Rosemary Welles, in Green Bay at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together they enjoyed 71 years of marriage and were blessed with eight children. Terry was instrumental in starting the Inhalation Therapy Department at both St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, and Marinette General Hospital. After his retirement Terry and Rosemary enjoyed traveling to Germany, Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, and Hawaii. Terry loved golfing, gardening, bird watching, and spoiling his cat "Bob". Terry was a very devout Catholic and was active at SS. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church where he was a lector, communion distributor, and attended Mass daily. He was a member of the Suamico VFW Post #9409, the De Pere Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus.

Terry is survived by his wife, Rosemary, his children and their spouses, Bill and Jane Patzke, Tom and Doreen Patzke, Steve and Lori Patzke, Theresa and Chris Guiver, Joe and Catherine Patzke; his grandchildren, Carly and Brad Nolan, Kristy and Brian Warden, Nat, Mary Rose, Hannah, Samuel, Stephen, Micah, Robin, Acasia, Daniel, Jesse; his great grandchildren, Braelin, Elias, and Oliver; his brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Millie Patzke; his sisters, Leona DeCleene, LaVerne DeCleene; son-in-law, Ralph Lovell, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, Marge, Mary Ann, and Carolyn; grandson, Zachary; brothers, Mike and Roy; his sister Genevieve.

Friends may call at SS. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Road, Flintville, on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. David J. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in SS. Edward and Isidore Cemetery.
