Schott, Verna Marie (Conard)

Verna Marie (Conard) Schott, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. Born in Sugar Bush, Wis., on Aug. 17, 1922, she married Raymond Schott and they had five children, Susan Schott, Rick Schott, Kathy Schott Donohue, Mike Schott, and Randy Schott. She is survived by her five children; two grandchildren, Pamela Schott Donohue and Cary Schott; brothers Fr. Raymond Conard and Donald Conard; nieces, nephews, and many life-long friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ray; her sister, Marian (Conard) Stephan; and brother, Maurice Conard.

Verna had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education & Human Services at the age of 60. She followed her passion to help people by managing group homes in Appleton and Oshkosh, Wis., and Dallas, Texas. She was spirited, adventurous, determined, and ever curious. Her final wish was to donate her body to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center to promote research. A private memorial service will be held following her cremation.
