Vivian Krohn (McKenna), age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30th at Artisan Assisted Living in West De Pere, WI.
Vivian was born in Madison on October 22, 1917, the youngest of 6 children born to John G. and Selena (Thorhaug) McKenna. She attended Madison Central and East High schools. She then attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1939 in Home Economics. Vivian began her teaching career in Mount Horeb, WI in 1939. There she met and married the love of her life, Norton M. Krohn, in 1943. They settled in Madison and raised four children. Vivian continued to teach until her retirement from East High School in 1982.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (John Burkholder), Martha (Rich Berowski) and John (Mary Jo); eight grandchildren, Nathan (Kacey) Koonce, Ryan (Megan) Koonce, Anna (Brian) O'Connor, Anna Berowski, Paul Berowski, Kristina (Larwin) Kauffman, Nicole Krohn, Andrew Krohn, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norton, in 1992, her daughter Patricia Koonce Cole in 1997 and her siblings Stanley McKenna, William McKenna, Marie Breslo Platka, Ruth Gilmore and Jerome McKenna.
Vivian loved her family, sewing, baking and apples. She will be sadly missed.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to staff at Artisan Assisted Living in West De Pere Wisconsin for all of their kindness and care of Vivian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 2nd at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison at 12:00 noon with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
