Hoell, William

William J. Hoell, 91, of Green Bay, went to his celestial calling on August 14, 2014. He was born on March 8, 1923 to the late Henry and Agnes (Bettine) Hoell. William served in the United States Army during WWII, receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He married Lucille Moureau on April 10, 1948 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral; she preceded him in death on March 21, 1982. On November 11, 1983 he married Sally Johnston at St. Willebrord Catholic Church; she preceded him in death on July 18, 2004. He was the owner and operator of Motor Parts Machine Company, United Parts Warehouse and Hoell Machine Company.

William enjoyed swimming, downhill skiing and water skiing. Over the years he was involved in the Green Bay Symphony and various choirs such as the Green Bay Community Chorus and the Dudley Birder Chorale. He was a member of the St. Norbert's Golden Knights, St. Bernard's Knights of Columbus and St. Bernard's Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his sister, Rosemary Rushka; two daughters, Marcia (Louis) Mitchell and Teri (Brian) Lett; one son, Bill (Vicki) Hoell; grandchildren, Shannon (Mark) Hinton, Jessica (Jerry) Anderson, Gregory (Sarah) Hoell, Allison (Tim) Newkirk, Alicia (Jeff) Lentz, Tanya (John) Hewlette, Angela (Jeremy) Thomas and Rebecca Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Julia and Ethan Cavazos, Harrison Newkirk, Brody, Lainnie and Celia Lentz, Madison Thomas; great-great grandson, Harlow Cavazos

He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Hoell; a sister, Geraldine Mathys; brother-in-law, Dave Rushka.

Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln. from 9 to 11a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 11a.m. Monday at the church with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed to the Hoell family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
