Charles Leaonard Adams


Charles Leonard Adams, 85, husband of Sara Jean Moore Adams, died Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late James Gordon and Annie Bella Dowes Adams.

Mr. Adams graduated with the Greenville High School Class of 1947. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked for Kash and Karry for 29 years. He retired from Community Cash. He was a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church. He was a member of Dunean Masonic Lodge #359, A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shriners.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter, Marsha A. Landreth of Murrell's Inlet, a son, Col. US Air Force Jamie L. Adams, Retired and daughter-in-law, Col. US Air Force Sandra M. Adams, Retired, of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Darren Landreth and wife Summer, Patton Landreth and wife Alicia, Evan Landreth and wife Kayla and Eric Adams; five great grandchildren, Benjamin Adams, Caden and Calvin Landreth, and Zada and Jovy Landreth; two sisters-in-law, Rae Simpson and husband Harold of Atlanta, GA and Pawnee Watson and husband Earl of Easley; and a brother-in-law, Harold Moore and wife Fay of Piedmont.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at West Gantt First Baptist Church with the service following at the church at 12 noon. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Gantt First Baptist Church Loyalty Fund, 1452 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
