Charles L. Eaton

Pelzer

Charles L. Eaton, 82, of 115 Bowen Drive, husband of Mary Katherine Eaton, died December 2, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.

He was twice married, first to the late Jeannette Fowler Eaton.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John Robert and Montine Gee Eaton. He was a retired residential painter and a member of Eastview Baptist Church. Mr. Eaton was a member of the Pelzer Masonic Lodge, Hejaz Shriners, and a charter member, helping to organize the Pelzer Rescue Squad. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughters, Diane Eaton of Belton, Pamela Charlene Halbrook of Anderson; step-daughter, Darlene Greenway of Belton; sister, Helen Lollis of Simpsonville; brother, Joe Martin Eaton of Pelzer; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Henry, Larry, Homer Eaton; sisters, Ailene Ellison, Margaret Dickson, Betty Parker.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service will be at 2pm Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Revs. Charles Fuller and James Ellenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
