David Delk, Sr.

Greenville

David Chandler Delk, Sr., 91, entered into rest Thursday, August 15, 2013 in the home.

David was born August 29, 1921 in Liberty County, GA. He was employed by J.P. Stevens Co., Monaghan Plant before his retirement. David was a member of City View Baptist Church; and received the Purple Heart while serving as an officer of the US Army in WWII.

Surviving are three children, Ronald Delk and wife Robin of Greer, Mary Theresa (Terri) Driver of Greenville, and David Chandler Delk, II and wife Imelda of Savannah, GA; and Deborah Hutchins of Greenville; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Predeceased were his wife, Mary Francis Gary Delk; a son, Jackie David Delk; his father, John Andrew Delk; his mother, Annie Chandler Delk; four brothers, Shelton, Lusius, J.A., and Marion Delk.

Services will be held on Sat., Aug. 17 at City View Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1 - 2 PM, with the memorial at 2 PM conducted by Revs. Mike Runion and Alex Williams.
