Donald Foster Barker, 93, of Taylors, SC, went to be with the Lord on December 15th after a period of declining health. He is survived by Marie Barker, his wife of 70 yrs.; daughters Donna, Beth Alexander; son David Barker; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was born in Alameda, California, living in the San Francisco bay area until 2012 when he and his wife moved to live with their daughter and son-in-law in Taylors. He married his wife in June of 1943. He served in the U.S. Army infantry and saw service in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. After returning to the U.S. he and his wife ultimately settle down in San Lorenzo, CA, where they raised their three children. He worked for the 3M-Company as sales rep in the microfilm division. He was an active member of the First Christian Church of San Lorenzo for over 50 years. He was very talented at building things with his hands for family, friends, and neighbors. He was a very loving and caring man and a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed in body but not in spirit.
