Edmund B. Martin, 88, of Sarasota, FL, formerly Lynchburg, VA, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2012.

Ed was married to Mary Frances Moore Martin, of Greenville, SC, for 63 years. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ed was employed by General Electric for 28 years as advertising and public relations manager. He was a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans where we was born, August 23, 1924. He served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.

A gentle man with a huge heart and a devout Catholic, we take solace in the knowledge that he rests in his Father's loving arms.

Knowing Ed for only a couple of years, he was a good friend. But that is what is not unusual being the kind of guy he was.
