Harry Tulman O'Bryan, Jr. (Pete), died August 27, 2013, in Blowing Rock, NC. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 2, 1936. He was the son of the late Harry Tulman O'Bryan, Sr. and Pearl Jacobs O'Bryan.
He is predeceased by sisters Helen Spence, Doris Suarez, Inez Ziegler and son Alan Dean O'Bryan. He is survived by children Renee O'Bryan Riordan and her husband Harold; two grandchildren Amanda and Patrick, and son Jeff O'Bryan and wife Julie; two grandchildren Kyle and Katie. Surviving sisters are Flossie Hanson and Joyce Volk. He was married to Patricia Ann Smith.
He grew up in Hattiesburg, MS, and was a 1958 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Math and Business Administration. During his career he worked as an engineer in the NASA Apollo Space Program, with Celanese Plastics Corp., and was then self-employed until his retirement.
He was very active in church at First Presbyterian in Greenville, SC, Alliance Bible Fellowship, Boone, NC, and First United Methodist Church, Fort Walton Beach, FL.
After spending 41 years in Greenville, SC, where he worked and raised his family, he spent his latter years in Boone, NC, and Fort Walton Beach, FL where he moved to be near the beach and to fish, his favorite pastime.
