James W. "Jim" Browning

Mauldin

James W. "Jim" Browning, 87, widower of Helen Virginia Cason, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at National Health Care in Mauldin.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late John Willard and Gladys Coker Browning.

Mr. Browning was retired from Southeastern Freight Lines and was a member of Mauldin First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Shirley Cason; a nephew, Luke Cason (Lesli); and a great nephew, Braeden Cason all of Greenville and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Horace L. Cason.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
