James Joseph Cooper

Travelers Rest

James Joseph Cooper, 84, of Travelers Rest, husband of 52 years to the late Mary Ellen Love Cooper, died Saturday, March 1, 2014.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Francis E. and Loretta Rogan Cooper.

James served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was wounded in the service of his Country. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion.

James loved his Country, animals, and all people. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

James is survived by two loving daughters, Mary Ellen Cooper and Kathleen V. Akins (Bobby); and two grandchildren, Daniel and Shireen Bolbolan.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his son, Kevin James Cooper along with 7 brothers and sisters.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday March 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
