Pete Abdo passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9th, 2012. He was 91 years old.

Pete was born in Lawrence, Mass. He grew up in West Palm Beach, FL, attending St. Ann's School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he faithfully served during WWII. Pete was a formidable drummer, which played throughout Palm Beach County. He began his professional career with Dictaphone Corporation. He ultimately formed his own Office Machine Company in 1962, and through hard work and by treating people fairly was able to grow it to be a very successful business throughout the South Florida area. Pete retired in 1985 and continued giving back to his community through his longtime membership with the WPB Rotary Club and St. Juliana's Church. Pete loved life and one of his favorite sports was playing golf.

Pete married Charlena in St. Ann's Church and shared 43 wonderful years together before Charlena's passing in 1997. They had two children, Charlie and Peter, and through their sacrificial love and devotion created a happy family life. They spent years working and enjoying life in the area with close family and friends. They spent their summers in North Carolina enjoying the mountains.

Pete had a joyful life surrounded by family, friends, and business associates who were attracted to his kindness, wit, and optimism.

Pete is survived by sons, Charlie and wife, Lisa, of Greenville, SC, Peter and wife, Maria, of London; grandchildren, Natalie, Benjamin, Joshua, Sophia, Christopher and Carolina. He is further survived by two great grand-children and many loving and devoted nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
