Bobby Hendricks


Robert Franklin "Bobby" Hendricks, Jr., 67, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at his home.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of Ruth Roper Hendricks of Pickens and the late Robert Franklin Hendricks, Sr.

Mr. Hendricks graduated from Wade Hampton High School in Greenville and from Clemson University where he earned a B.S. Degree in Agronomy.

He worked for the Soil Conservation Service and Palmetto Plating for years; served in the US Navy aboard the USS Hanson during the Vietnam War. He also enjoyed scouting and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. After retirement he enjoyed cattle raising and farming.

Surviving is his mother, Ruth Roper Hendricks of Pickens; two sons, Brian Ashley Hendricks (Carole) of Orange Park, FL and John Robert Hendricks of Pickens; three grandchildren, Lindsay Keener, Lauryn Hendricks and Ashley Hendricks; a sister, Diana Roper (David) and Charles Hendricks (Tommye) all of Pickens.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Manning Hendricks.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Dillard Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
