Robert "Jim" Friddle


Robert Marshall "Jim" Friddle, 89, husband of Louise James Friddle, died Saturday June 22, 2013.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Robert P. and Lela Hampton Friddle.

Mr. Friddle served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was a lifetime farmer, and also was an employee of Dow Chemicals in Mauldin, and worked in the textile industry.

Mr. Friddle was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by two daughters, Vivian F. Tabares and Beverly Friddle; five sons, David M. Friddle, Glenn A. Friddle and wife Debbie, Bruce E. Friddle, Kenneth E. Friddle, and Jeff Friddle; a sister, Mary F. McQueen; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Friddle was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
