Theron Boyd Burns
Greenville
Theron Boyd Burns, 87, husband of Betty Sue Goodwin Burns, died Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Born in Travelers Rest, he was the son of the late Frank and Jessie Lipscomb Burns.
Mr. Burns was retired from Winn Dixie and was a member of Agnew Road Church of God. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.
He loved to garden and work in his greenhouse.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Roger Burns of Travelers Rest; a brother, J.B. Burns of Travelers Rest; and two grandchildren, Jessie Burns Hendrix and husband, Andy of Nashville, TN and Ezra Burns and wife, Ashlan of Charleston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Joyce Taylor.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Upstate SC Chapter, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601.
The family will be at the residence.
