WILBURN "DUB" LANCE

Wilburn "Dub" Charles Lance, 68, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at his home.

Born in Brevard, NC, he was the son of the late Arlin William, Sr. and Reba Mae Galloway Lance and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Mr. Lance served in the U.S. Army, 1st Calvary Division, of the Vietnam War and was a recipient of 2 Purple Hearts. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed playing the guitar and was not only loved, but he loved everyone.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Sandra Jean Rice Lance; a daughter, Beverly (Mike) Morrow; a son, Ray (Debra) Lance; a special nephew, Danny Ray Woodring; a brother, Bill Lance; 4 sisters, Molly Jones, Betty Jones, Shelva Lang and Linda Fagan; 5 grandchildren, Alex Morrow, Chase Morrow, Taylor Lance, Joshua Morrow, Nicole Lance, and a great-grandson, Landon Thompson.

Along with his parents, Mr. Lance was predeceased by 6 siblings and a baby son, Charles Richard Lance.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary, with burial to follow at Coleman Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the mortuary.

The family will be at the home of Molly Jones.
