Miller, Jean A.
Jean Alice Myers Miller, 92, died February 9, 2014 at The Nathaniel Witherell, a nursing Center in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Born in Naperville, Illinois on January 15, 1922, the eldest daughter of Truman and Marianne (Brough) Myers, Jean went to high school in Naperville, Illinois and then attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She married Robert Dewey Miller (also of Naperville, Illinois) on December 12, 1942, just two days before he reported for active duty in the U.S. Army in the Pacific. After the war, the Millers lived in Illinois, Georgia, and Wisconsin before moving overseas in 1961. The Millers moved to Grantham, New Hampshire after returning from overseas and Jean spent her last years in assisted living facilities in Stamford, Connecticut after Bob's death in 2004.
Mrs. Miller was a fiercely proud and capable woman who lived and raised five children in six countries on three continents. She was an accomplished knitter, bridge player, and gourmet cook who thrived on challenges and always strove to "get organized."
She is survived by her younger brother Tim of Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina; her five children Robert Jr. (Jake) of Spokane, Washington, Sally Harding of London, England, Andrew of Greenwich, Connecticut, Christopher of Woodstock, Vermont, and Theodore of Vienna, Austria; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
No funeral service will be held, and burial will be at the Pine Knoll Cemetery in Hanover, New Hampshire.
