Koehler, Arden L.

Arden L. Koehler, age 94 of Kewaunee died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Bellin Memorial Hospital. He was born in the Town of Carlton on January 15, 1919 to the late Paul and Julia (Petrick) Koehler.

He graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1936 and the University of Wisconsin, Madison Ag. Short Course. Arden served in the Red Arrow Division of the U. S. Army Quarter Master Corps from 1941 to 1945 as a Staff Sgt. in the Pacific Theatre. He married Clara Lallensack on June 15, 1950 and she preceded him in death on October 15, 1999. Together they farmed in Carlton all of their lives. He was able to be out in the field last week, helping with the wheat harvest.

He was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish where he was an usher for over thirty years. He was a County Board Supervisor for twenty-five years for the Town of Carlton and was the Chairman for the Town of Carlton for many years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Daniel (Chip) and Patricia (Patty) Koehler, Two Rivers; one daughter: Joann Koehler, Kewaunee; two grandchildren: Beth (Mike) Wiltman, Chilton; Bret Koehler, Two Creeks; one great grandchild, Kahler Wiltman; four sisters-in-law: Lorraine Lallensack; Angie Lallensack; Beatrice Lallensack all of Manitowoc; Lucille Lallensack, Osman; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son: Paul Koehler; one great granddaughter, Danica Wiltman; one brother: Art (Florence) Koehler; three sisters: Florence (Everett) Bodwin; Alice (Glenn) Gagnon; Grace Koehler; five brothers-in-law: William Lallensack; Francis (Gladys) Lallensack; Edward (Rose) Lallensack; Victor Lallensack; George Lallensack; two sisters-in-law: Eleanor (Marvin) Schmelzle; Delphine (Herbert) Schiesl.

Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. by Fr. William Swichtenberg officiating with full Military Rites to follow. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
