Arthur A. Schroeder age 71 of Manitowoc, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center Manitowoc.
Art was born November 29, 1941 in Two Rivers, son of the late Arthur and Mayme (Kaiser) Schroeder. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1960 from Lincoln High School. On June 25, 1961 Art married the former Sharon Filzen at St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was employed at Imperial Eastman as an Engineer until his retirement in 1999. Art was a member of the Lakeshore United Methodist Church, former member of the Manitowoc Yacht Club, Manitowoc Elk's Lodge #687 and Manitowoc Gun Club. Art enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife: Sharon Schroeder, Manitowoc; one son: John Schroeder, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law: Dawn (James) Ferree, Cary, IL; five grandchildren: Lukas Schroeder; Nicholas Schroeder; Brandi Ferree; Jakob Ferree; Zachariah Ferree; two sisters: Delores Jaeger, Manitowoc; Judi Bierman, Manitowoc; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard (Pat) Filzen, Reedsville; Sheila (Scott) Barnes, Long Beach, CA; Sheryl (Jerry) Lambert, Smithville, MO; Scott (Teri) Filzen, Janesville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Art was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother-in-law: Dalton Jaeger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Ave., Manitowoc. Rev. Thomas J. Dunham will officiate. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Jens Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home Manitowoc assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
