Carl moved to Arizona in the mid-seventies and spent the next 40 years in the plant and landscape business first with Kmart, and then with a number of commercial landscape companies beautifying the Phoenix metropolitan "Valley of the Sun" area. After his retirement, Carl continued to take great pride in his personal residence and the beautiful citrus trees surrounding his property. He also was able to make extended visits back to Two Rivers and the lakeshore area to spend time with his siblings and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Carl was a faithful member of St. Bridget Holy Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Earl (Lois) Schultz, Mequon, WI; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Louise Olson, Two Rivers; Shirley Holschbach, Manitowoc; Carol (Frank) Novy, Two Rivers; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schultz and Jane Schultz, both of Two Rivers; and Marie Schultz, Menomonee Falls, WI. He is further survived by good friends, Glenn and Lorraine Edwards, Mark and April Enniss, and Mike and Maxine Brooks of Mesa AZ; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
