Brouchoud, Daniel A.

Daniel A. Brouchoud, age 95, of 3518 Monroe St., Two Rivers, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 after a short illness, at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Daniel was born January 28, 1918 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Peter and Emma (Hrdina) Brouchoud. From Sept. 1941 to Nov. 1945 he served his country in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army, seeing action in both Oahu and Kauai. On September 14, 1946, he married Kathleen Ruthmansdorfer at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2010. Daniel worked for the City of Two Rivers as a mechanic from 1950 - 1976 and retired in 1980 as superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Plant. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking- building three of his own homes over the years, and making numerous spinning wheels for family members. He also loved to golf and vacation up-north with his family; and enjoyed hunting in his younger days.

Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law, Stephen and Marilyn Brouchoud of Two Rivers; three daughters & two sons-in-law, Ruthann and Milton Mleziva, Manitowoc, Linda Armstrong, St. Petersburg, FL, and Eileen and Peter Robley of Cato; ten grandchildren: Jeff Brouchoud and fiancée, Lori, Dawn Blish and friend, Gene, Sherri (Larry) Nunneley, Scott (Bobbie Jo) Mleziva, Kevin (Jennifer) Mleziva, Roy Armstrong, Jr. and friend, Ruth, Jennifer Armstrong, Daniel Armstrong, Cory (Jackie) Myers, and Kristy (Russell) Hess; nine great grandchildren: Cody, Keegan, Caleb, Megan, Eli, Brayden, Cohen, Abigale, and Seth; and one great-great grandchild: Cayden. He is further survived by one brother & sister-in-law, Earl (Bette) Brouchoud, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law, Paul (Aimee Jo) Ruthmansdorfer, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond (Joan) Brouchoud, and a sister, Lorraine (Art) Marcelle.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Peter Mitchell, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by members of the VFW Post #1248 and American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of mass at 10:00 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.

The Brouchoud family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Aurora Medical Center; the staff of the Wisteria Haus; and to the Aurora VNA Hospice team for the wonderful care and compassion extended to our father over the past two weeks.
