Schroeder, Howard C.

Howard C. Schroeder, age 73, of 2270 Valley Circle, Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon, August 26, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on July 24, 1940 in Manitowoc, son of the late Ralph and Matilda (Hartlaub) Schroeder. Howard was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1958. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. On May 16, 1964 he married the former Jacqueline Schuette in Francis Creek. Howard was an electrician at Crafts Electric for 40 years, retiring in 2007, where he was a member of Local Union 158. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers with his son and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, swimming and spending time with his family and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife: Jacqueline Schroeder, Manitowoc; three daughters and a son-in-law: Yolanda Buechner, Manitowoc, Jayne Downing & her special friend Michael Romito, Manitowoc, Laura & Roger Ahnen, Howard; five grandchildren: Crystal Parker, Corrissa (Andrew) Frank, Jaylin Downing, Jadon Downing, Anthoni Ahnen; one great grandson expected in November; a brother and sister: Althea Lentz, Texas, Daniel (Sherry) Schroeder, Colorado; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ervin & Sharon Schuette, James Schuette, Robert & Clare Schuette, Gregory & Jane Schuette, Guy & Kathy Schuette, Betty Schuette, all of Manitowoc, Joann & Roger Thom, Florida, Mary Hebert, Manitowoc; and special friends: Vicki & Sam. He was also preceded in death by a son: Kenneth H. Schroeder in 2009; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerome Schuette, Nancy (Kenneth) Lee, June Anthonie, Jim Hebert and Nancy Schuette; and a special friend: Chuck Maples.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, September 2, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Beaudry. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Howard will be laid to rest at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Monday, September 2, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in his name to St. Jude's.

Howard was welcomed to his heavenly home by his son, as they now can enjoy their time together. Howard was the biggest helper you could ask for here on earth. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him
