John C. Strodthoff, age 66, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 1, 2013 at his residence in Oshkosh.
John was born on July 13, 1946, son of the late Clarence H. And Hallie O. (Stiefvater) Strodthoff in Manitowoc. He graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1964. John served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service, he was employed with the Manitowoc County Parks and Recreation Department. John then continued his education at Arizona State University, Tempe, where he earned a degree in Architecture. John was a self employed architect. He loved to travel, throughout the United States and Europe. John enjoyed the Arts and appreciated architectural design, and especially enjoyed the works of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Survivors include four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Sister Caritas Strodthoff, Manitowoc, Judy and Duane Bloomquist, Hartland, Kristine Strodthoff and Scott Lodge, Fox Point and Tina and Julius Davis, Mequon. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Hallie Strodthoff and a brother: Nicky.
John was cremated at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Private family services were held, and his cremains will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
