Steinhardt, Richard W.
Richard W. Steinhardt, age 93, died Thursday morning, March 28, 2013, at the Hamilton Care Center,Two Rivers.
Richard was born February 11, 1920, in the city of Plymouth, son of the late Adolph and Selma (Eimermann) Steinhardt. He married Jeanne Deau on March 6, 1943, in Plymouth. She preceded him in death on September 24, 1979. On September 12, 1980, he married Sylvia Behrens and she preceded him in death on April 24, 2009.
Richard was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Church. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1938 and entered the Armed Forces (U.S. Coast Guard) during World War II. He was a Yeoman, first class, serving from September 9, 1941 thru February 19, 1946. He was employed as a Teamster driver for thirty-one years before retiring in 1980. He volunteered his time as a driver with the Senior Center. He also belonged to the YMCA health facility and he loved to walk. He put on many miles walking the sidewalks of Two Rivers. Richard was a member of the Happy Hoppers Dance Club. Richard loved his family deeply.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Scott (Carol) Steinhardt of Summerfield, FL; Kip (Mary) Steinhardt of Waterford; three daughters and sons-in-law; Sally (William) Ladish of Brookfield, and Lisbeth "Betsy" (Steven) Rezachek of Two Rivers; Kathy (Randy) Leider of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren: Suzette (Doug) Zimmerman, Shane (Julie) Steinhardt, Shelly (Brian) Bocher, Shaun (Bree) Rezachek and Ryan Rezachek, Matthew Ladish and Lisa (Tony) Gahn, Dawn Wolff, Heather (Tim) Dietrich and William (Kim) Leider. Also survived by great grandchildren: Dakota Rezachek, Karlina and Alyssa Zimmerman, Adaiah and Karstaen Rezachek, Chase Bocher, Amanda Schodeberg, Kristin and Meagan Wolff, Cole and Ty Dietrich and Randy Leider; and a soon-to-be great granddaugher. He is further survived by a niece and nephew and other relatives and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Rezachek in 2005, a step-son, William Behrens, and one brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Alice Steinhardt.
PRIVATE FUNERAL SERVICES for the family will be held at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home and at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum where the body will be laid to rest. THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION.
