Rodney G. Schwab, age 63 of Manitowoc, died on Friday morning, August 29, 2014.
Rodney was born on March 3, 1951 in Manitowoc son of the late Raymond and Mildred (Pieschel) Schwab. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1969. Rodney served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1975. Rodney worked for Eck Foundry for 43 years always taking great pride in putting forth 198%. On August 23, 1986 Rodney was married to Linda M. Kohlbeck at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The couple recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Manitowoc Eagles Aerie #706. Rodney enjoyed spending time with his family, his dog Sophie and in the past he loved to golf.
Survivors include his wife: Linda Schwab, Manitowoc; his two daughters and sons-in-law: April (Mark) Vach, Fond du Lac; Bonnie (Steve) Proszenyak, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Richard (Cathy) Schwab, MD; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Kristine (Donald) Cisler, Manitowoc; Karen (John) Johnson, Manitowoc; three step-brothers and two sisters-in-law: Norman Oelke, Manitowoc; Richard (Delores) Oelke, Manitowoc; Darwin (Mary) Oelke, Manitowoc; one aunt and uncle: Evelyn (Jim) Sustman, Mishicot; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include; Wendy (Douglas) Meidl, West Bend; Glenn (Anne) Kohlbeck, Kellnersville; Ron (Shirlee) Kohlbeck, Kellnersville, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Mildred Schwab; his step-father: Cecil Oelke; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Marie Kohlbeck; one step-sister-in-law: LaVerne Oelke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Dave Beaudry will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Services accorded by VFW Otto-Oas Post #659 of Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
