Shirley Ann Erdman age 86 formerly of Manitowoc, WI, passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Luther Oaks, Bloomington IL. Her celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Thursday Sept. 4, 2014, Bethel Chapel First Lutheran Church 521 North Eighth Street Manitowoc, WI. Pastor Roald Harswick will officiate. Inurnment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer's Research. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Shirley was born January 16, 1928, in Manitowoc, WI, the daughter of Roland Leo and Grace Annette Steuber Kretche. She married Willard V. Erdman, Jr. on June 2, 1951, in Manitowoc, WI. He passed away February 3, 1989. She married Michael Sfat on November 28, 1997, in Manitowoc, WI. He passed away October 12, 2012.

Surviving, 3 children, Christine (Geri Torti) Erdman, Madison, WI; Willard V. Erdman III, Castro Valley, CA; Julie (Steve) Kubsch, Normal IL; 2 grandchildren, Erika (Colin) Fiola, Cinncinati, Ohio; Matt (Kristen) Kubsch, Bloomington, IL; special family friend, Helmut Schuster who was an AFS student now living, London England; sister-in-law, Mrs. Carol Madson, Naperville, IL and children, Sarah McCormack, Lafayette, CO; and Mary Aldworth, Forest Park, IL; cousin, Mrs. Janet Zabel, Manitowoc, WI and her children, Joan Walsh and John Zabel, Manitowoc, WI; favorite grandpuppy, Lennie.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1949 and Silver Lake Teaching College, Manitowoc, WI in 1960. She taught Home Economics at Roncalli High School, Manitowoc, WI from 1972-1981. Shirley was a member of First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, WI, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, P.E.O. Chapter J since 1963, UW Badger Beauty in 1948. She was a member of one of the oldest book clubs in Wisconsin "CLIO."
