KALBAUGH, Emma A. (Wells) 70, of Lafayette, died at 5:35 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, in her home. She was born on January 13, 1943 in Middletown, OH to the late Marple E. and Ruby M. (Kirby) Wells. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1961 and attended Morehead State University from 1961-1964. She received a Bachelors degree from New York University, and a Masters degree from Kaplan University. Her marriage was to Fred Kalbaugh and he survives. Emma and Fred had lived in Franklin, OH before moving to Lafayette in 2005. She attended the Town Blvd. Church of God (formerly Grand Ave. Church of God) for most of her life. Emma worked for and retired after 30 years from Mound Laboratory in Miamisburg, OH. She retired as the Senior Manager of Material Control. Surviving with her husband are two sons, Stephen Kalbaugh (wife: Susan) of Royston, GA, and Kirby Kalbaugh (wife: Melissa) of Lafayette; a brother, James Clifford Wells of Robbinsville, NC; and her long time friend, Deborah Lynn Small. She is also survived by two grandsons, Eric of Atlanta, GA, and Steven of Lafayette; three granddaughters, Alyssa of Royston, GA, and Emma and Kaitlyn of Lafayette, IN; and two great-granddaughters, Kinsley Rae and Nevaeh Callie of Atlanta, GA. Friends may call from 2 pm until the time of funeral service at 4 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston.
