HESSELBROCK, Raymond A. age 88 of Okeana, Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday morning, August 1, 2013. He was born on October 22, 1924 in Shandon, Ohio the son of Aloys and Linda (Hodapp) Hesselbrock. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. On September 25, 1947, he married Betty J. Schlemmer at St. Aloysius Church in Shandon and they were married for 46 years. Ray was a lifelong farmer in Butler County, a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and St. Aloysius Church. He is survived by five children; Michael Ray Hesselbrock, Dennis (Carol) Hesselbrock, Barbara (Michael) Smith, Jerald Hesselbrock, and James (Theresa) Hesselbrock; nine grandchildren, Carolyn Jean (William) Flynn, Jennifer Leigh Hesselbrock, Kristopher Hesselbrock, Allison Smith, Julie Kathleen (Randy) Niese, Elizabeth Jo (Ryan) Holtkamp, Sharon (Mark) Menke, Charles Hesselbrock, and Andrew Hesselbrock; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Carl Joseph Hesselbrock one sister, Rita Frances Vonderhaar and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Betty; and four sisters, Ada Mary, Alta Rose, Nola Ann, and an infant sister. Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Sunday afternoon from 4-7 p.m. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Church, 3350 Chapel Road, Shandon, OH on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
