WOODS, Sr. Robert Eugene Age 83, of Hamilton, passed away at Heartland of Woodridge, Fairfield on Friday, October 4, 2013. He was born in Hamilton on November 7, 1929, the son of Hiram B. and Gemima (Nelson) Woods Sr. Robert was a veteran of the Army serving during WW II and the Korean War. Robert grew up assisting his father in the family garage business and on the family farm, becoming very mechanically inclined. He became a person who could fix anything. He used this ability in his employment at Champion Paper and General Motors. He was also a bailiff for the Hamilton Municipal Court. Robert was a member of Hugh L. Bates Lodge 686 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, AMVETS Post 1983, American Legion Post 138, VFW Post 1069, Eagles Aeries 407 and 3986, and Moose Lodge 36. He was a great friend. He is survived by his significant partner, Jean Newberry; a brother, Hiram B. "Luke" Woods Jr. and his wife Ann; a granddaughter, and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Eugene Woods Jr. and his wife Nora; a sister, Marie Woods; and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Ave., on Wednesday, Oct. 9th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dale French officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with Masonic service by Hugh L.
