Andrew "Pete" Bouchard, 80, beloved husband of 59 years of Jean (Leone) Bouchard, passed away Wednesday, (July 31, 2013) at his home in Canton. Pete, born on Sept. 30, 1932, was the son of the late Leonard and Anna Bouchard. From an early childhood, he was raised by his sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Andy Glanovsky, and brother, Clifford Bouchard. Pete was the proud and loving father and grandfather of his three children and six grandchildren: Lynne Olson (William) of Canton, Karen Bahre (Robert) of Canton, and Peter Bouchard of Hanover, NH, and grandchildren, Whitney and Taylor Olson, Kelsey and Robbie Bahre and Kyla and Blake Bouchard. Pete, a 1951 graduate of Farmington High School, starred as half-back and kicker of the 1949 undefeated State champion football team. Pete enlisted in the Army during the Korean War Conflict, was a medic with the 11th Airborne Paratroop unit with which he proudly made 27 jumps. Pete was an avid hunter, fisherman and a former member of the Farmington Game Club. He was a former member of the Golf Club of Avon and enjoyed golf and during his golfing years had the distinction of achieving 2 holes-in-one. Pete was also an avid Morgan horse lover and owner. He enjoyed spending many summers watching his children win championship ribbons throughout the Northeast. Pete was the owner and operator of Bouchard Printers, Inc., in Canton for 30 years. He was a founding member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce. Upon his retirement from the printing industry, he and Jean operated Applegate Farm, a popular produce stand on their property in Canton. He was an avid farmer and loved being in the fields growing his produce. He was predeceased by his three sisters; Eva Glanovsky, Winfred Duperry, Beatrice Pylkowski, and four brothers; Clifford Bouchard, Raymond Bouchard, Wilford Bouchard, Omer Bouchard.
Friends and relatives may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St, Rt. 4, Unionville on Sunday, August 4 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Monday, August 5 at 9 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in St. Patrick Church, Collinsville at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Avon.
