Armand DiCosimo Obituary


Armand DiCosimo,90, of New Britain, passed away peacefully Thursday. Born March 24, 1924, he was married for 71 years to Vita (Ridolfo) DiCosimo. He was a lifelong resident of New Britain and attended New Britain High. Armand served in the Navy as a gunners mate and saw action in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star.. He worked as a Presser at American Bazaar for 44 years. Armand loved to dance, garden, & go to the beach. He was the oldest member of the Marconi Society and the Elks Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Attillio and Rosina DiCosimo, three brothers and a daughter Annette DiCosimo. He will be greatly missed by his wife Vita, daughter Rose Marie Gagnon and her significant other Ray Arnold, sons Joseph DiCosimo, his wife Pat; Richard DiCosimo, his wife Debbie, Jeffrey DiCosimo, his wife Gale, and John DiCosimo; his grandchildren Annette, Armand, Todd, Kim, Bridget, and Candace; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services are Monday (April 7, 2014) 9 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM at St. Ann Church, 101 North Street, New Britain, CT 06051. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 4 to 6 PM at Carlson Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann Church.
