Arthur "Leo" Ouellette Obituary

Arthur Leo Ouellette, known to his loved ones as "Leo", passed away on May 1, 2014. He was born December 14, 1941 to Marie Jeanne and Anatole Ouellette of Willimantic, where he resided for most of his life. He is the beloved father of Leo Ouellette of Windsor Locks, Donna McHenry (Ouellette) of Willimantic, and John Ouellette (predeceased, of East Hampton). He has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a brother, Gerard Ouellette, was predeceased by a sister, Cecile St. Hilaire and is known and loved by many others. Leo was a Master Electrician, and a former State Police Officer of Troop K of Colchester. In June of 2010, he retired from Cheney Technical High School, ending his career of 37 years as a Head Electrical Instructor for the technical school system. It thrilled him to see the "light bulb" go on in his students' minds. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, the Franco American Club, President of the 14th Club, and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Leo was the life of the party no matter where he went, and always had a joke or story to tell. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA East 34 Ledgebrook Dr., Mansfield, CT 06250. Calling hours at Potter Funeral Home will take place on Monday, May 5th from 5-8pm. His Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 6th at 10am at St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic, followed by a burial ceremony at St. Joseph's Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Franco American Club. Please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com for online memorial guest book.
