Bernard Nicholas Mastrangelo Obituary

Bernard Nicholas Mastrangelo, 89, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of the late Conchtina (Dandero) Mastrangelo, passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side. He was born in Hartford a son of Atillio and Mary (Benedetto) Mastrangelo. Bernard was a US Army Veteran of WW II. He retired from Heublein in 1986 as a tool and die maker. Bernie was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the American Legion Post 123 where he was past commander and chaplain and also the VFW Post 2138 of Rocky Hill. Bernard was very active in the community participating in the Rocky Hill Auxiliary Police for many years, the Rocky Hill Attack Force, and the Heublein Fire Brigade for 34 years. He leaves behind four brothers, George Mastrangelo, Donald Mastrangelo, Edward Mastrangelo, and William Mastrangelo; a sister, Lorraine Boling; a brother in law, Charles Warner; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend Jeanne Brilliant. He was predeceased by a brother Robert and two sisters Rosemarie and Joanne. Bernie's family would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Cecile Fazio for their endless care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday (April 16, 2014) 11 AM at St. James Church, Rocky Hill. Burial with military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Rose Hill Funeral 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM just prior to leaving for church. Those wishing may make donations to St. James Church 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067. or to the Rocky Hill Human Services 699 Old Main St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067 to benefit the Rocky Hill Food Pantry.
