He was born in the Granby Hospital, son of the late Milo and Dora (Messenger) Hart, he spent 24 years on his family's dairy farm in West Granby and 63 years on Bushy Hill Road. He loved UCONN Women's Basketball (when they won the National Championship and when they didn't). He loved country music, pickup trucks, his cat "Beaurigard", and small children, and they especially loved him. Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was predeceased by his first wife of 44 years, Jennie (Basile) Hart and his infant son, Stephen David Hart. He leaves his loving wife and partner of 20 years, Sherry (Lamson) Sindland, three stepchildren, Lori Sindland of Hartford, Shelly Sindland of West Hartford, and Lee Sindland and his wife Lynn of Arkansas; seven step-grandchildren, Ozzie, Tommy, Betsy, Katie, George, and Lucie Sindland of Arkansas, and Sadie Hart Sindland of West Hartford; he also leaves his aunt, Lois Messenger of Granby, a brother-in-law, Joseph Basile and his wife Patricia Basile of Lakeland, FL; his namesake nephew, David Porcelli and his wife Sandy of Wilbraham, MA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews of the Basile and Porcelli families throughout MA and FL.
