Delio Alessandrini Obituary

Delio (Daniel) Alessandrini, 91, widower of the late Florence Alessandrini, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in New Haven, son of the late Joseph & Anna (Aiudi) Alessandrini, he was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven, attended CCSU and was formerly employed as a planner/scheduler by Stanley Tools in New Britain for 38 years. Delio served his country faithfully in the United States Seventh Army under General Patton during WWII in the European Theater as a member of the 167th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. He was a member of St. Ann Church, St. Ann Men's Club, VFW Post 511 and the Stanley Seniors. He is survived by his children, Deborah Sullivan and her husband Patrick, Daniel Alessandrini and his wife, Amanda, grandchildren Christopher Sullivan and his wife, Carrie, Kevin Sullivan and Angelina Alessandrini, two sisters, Jennie Ortolan and Phyllis Bird and his sister-in law Maureen Alessandrini. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews including Carol and David Cochran, Richard and Lou Righi, Heather and Steve Waiser and Michael Cochran. He was predeceased by his brother Fred Alessandrini. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, Burritt St, New Britain at 9:30 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am at St Ann Church, North Street, New Britain. Interment with full military honors will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives & friends may call Saturday morning, May 10 at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 9:30 am.
