PEASLEE, Dennis Michael

Dennis Michael Peaslee, born in Exeter, NH on March 16, 1950 died peacefully at his home in Vernon, CT surrounded by his loving family members after fighting a long battle with cancer. Dennis grew up in Acton, MA where he was on the high school football team. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Where he fought for our country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 earning a Purple Heart and a Courageous Service Award. Dennis was pre-deceased by his father William Francis Peaslee and his brother Bruce Edward Peaslee . He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Hogan and his wife Cynthia. Dennis also leaves behind his son Jason and his wife Liana; his daughter Rebecca and his stepson James; along with five grandchildren, Karina, Kamrin, Ethan, Dane and Jocelyn. He also leaves his sister Cathleen Derosier and her husband Philip; a brother Charles Peaslee and his wife Elizabeth; a sister Donna Peaslee and a sister Patricia Shannon and her husband Michael. All his sisters and brother will miss him tremendously. He has many nieces and nephews that will also hold him in their hearts forever along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dennis enjoyed summers fishing at Newfound lake, he was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and was also a fan of NASCAR racing. He loved music, spending time with his family and simply enjoying life.
A service celebrating his life will take place on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at the American Legion in Shelton, CT from 3-7 p.m. All friends and family are encouraged to come.
