DIBIASE, Dominic Sr.

Dominic DiBiase Sr., 91, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Eleanor (Small) DiBiase passed away peacefully on Thursday (August 16, 2012), at the Suffield House. Dominic was born on May 14, 1921 in Portland, ME, he was the son of the late Santo and Lucia DiBiase. Dominic was a veteran of World War II. He joined the Army in Sept. 1942, and served as a Sergeant in the 840th Airborne Engineer Aviation Battalion and fought at Normandy and in Northern France until Sept. 1945. He was honorably discharged on October 28, 1945, and received a good conduct medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign ribbon. Dominic worked for Accessory Control and Equipment Corp. in Bloomfield, as a supervisor and Gemme Mayflower Moving Co. of Hartford managing their warehouses. After retiring, he worked for Airport Shuttle in Windsor Locks. His favorite hobby was woodworking; building furniture and toys. Dominic and Eleanor attended annual Army Reunions from 1950 - 2000; and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on August 8, 2012. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Besides his wife Eleanor, Dominic is survived by his two sons, Dominic DiBiase Jr. and his wife Diane of Chandler, AZ., Dana DiBiase Sr. and his wife Murielle of Palermo, ME; two daughters, Donna Illick and her husband Daniel of Shelbyville, KY, and Diane DiBiase and her partner Michael Cariseo of Windsor Locks; his grandchildren; Deborah and Douglas Sands, Scott and Rebekah DiBiase, Aleisha and Timothy Schoenborn, Alex Pavlakis and his fiancé Kristen Chase, Dana DiBiase, Jr., Marla DiBiase and Kendell Edwards, Rebecca Fabi, Jennifer and Sheila Hinckley, Amy Illick and her fiancé Nicholas Michaud, Damian Hallo, Cherish and Adam Girard, Melissa and Rich Kress; 17 beloved great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews in Maine, and his sister-in-law Stella DiBiase.
Visitation hours will be on Friday, August 24, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks.
