Eric G. Ericson Obituary

Eric G. Ericson, 93, of Bloomfield, died peacefully on June 26, 2014. Eric was born on April 27, 1921 in Stratford, CT to the late Erik and Mary (Krisko) Erickson. Eric is predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret; his brother, Albert; and his sisters Esther and Mabel. He is survived by his four dearly loved daughters: Nancy Moradian (and husband Jim) of Newington, Linda Freiman of Avon, Janet Duncan (and husband Ian) of Santa Barbara, CA and Karen Ericson of West Hartford. He also leaves his cherished granddaughter, Megan Moradian, as well as many great nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Antoinette "Billie" Dupont. Eric was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. He lived most of his life in Windsor with his wife, Margaret, where he raised his four daughters and retired from Hamilton Standard where he worked for 39 years as an engineer. Eric had a lifelong interest in nature and loved all animals. He also loved the outdoors, skiing, boating, camping, gardening and music, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Eric had a passion for life and a smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Rest easy, Dad. It was a wonderful life. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Hartford Hospital for their excellent care and support in his final days. There will be no calling hours. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, at St. James's Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06107. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eric's name may be made to the Roaring Brook Nature Center, 70 Gracey Road, Canton, CT 06019.
