SCOTT, Gale Gordon "Scotty"

Gale Gordon "Scotty" Scott, 87, died peacefully at his residence, on August 23, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Marie Forchelli Scott, his daughters- preacher Rev. Debbie Scott of Bethesda, MD and teacher - Wendy J. Scott of Bolton, CT; brother Donald Scott (Joann) of Ft. Wayne, IN; predeceased by sister Phyllis (Bob) Denne of Chagrin Falls, OH: many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Born Aug. 5, 1926, Scotty was a 1948 graduate of Purdue University (Sigma Nu Fraternity) and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a gifted mechanical / civil engineer specializing in bulk material handling equipment working for Link-Belt, J.C. Corrigan, Co., Inc., Borg-Warner Corp, Stephens-Adamson, Allis Chalmers, FMC, Hitachi, and Kaman. Gale was an avid golfer, a member of the elusive hole in-one-club. He loved to play any sort of card game. Scotty was a member of the Masons for over 50 years, an active Shriner and a woodworker with an eye for perfection who could make anything with his hands. Scotty was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in many different states serving as a Lay Speaker and chair of multiple committees. He was also a member of The Old Guard in West Hartford, CT.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Sept. 6th at 10:30am in the community room at Middlewoods of Farmington, 509 Middle Rd. Farmington, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heifer International 1 World Ave. Little Rock, AR 72202 or Habitat for Humanity International 121 Habitat St. Americus, GA 31709-3498.
